Woman Dies in Traffic Accident Near Modesto on Highway 99

A woman died Tuesday night during a fatal single-vehicle crash on Highway 99 in Modesto, according to the report from California Highway Patrol officials.
The woman was a passenger in a Toyota, 4Runner vehicle, which stopped at the edge of an embankment along the highway after a rough run, a California Highway Patrol member said. The health status of the driver of the SUV vehicle is unknown.
The crash happened around 9:10 p.m. on Hwy. 99 near West Briggsmore Avenue. The report also states that the SUV lost control and crashed into a tow truck that was parked on the highway hoax. The driver of the tow truck was working to load a broken down vehicle into the truck when it was hit.

After the accident, the SUV rolled a long stretch and then stopped right at the pinnacle of an embankment.
California Highway Patrol officers reported that another passenger was also in the accident, but it was not a person but a dog, but unfortunately officers have not yet found him.
Traffic in the area was blocked as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
