Police report speeding and the influence of alcohol were the driving factors behind the fatal crash in San Leandro
San Leandro, California. Police are investigating a collision that occurred during the early morning in San Leandro, the terrible accident left one dead and two other people injured in the hospital.
According to police, officers responded to emergency reports mentioning a traffic accident around 02:35 a.m. near Bancroft Middle School, which is located at 1150 Bancroft Avenue.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the car was traveling over the speed limit, driving east on Callan Avenue.
Police said the vehicle crossed at the intersection of Bancroft Avenue and entered the parking lot of the high school, hitting a fence and eventually crashing into the outer wall of the school’s gymnasium.
According to the final police report, the driver of the vehicle died at the scene of the accident from the impact, and the other two passengers who were severely injured were taken to a hospital, one of them is reported to be in critical condition and the other in stable condition.
Police said that when both speed and alcohol appeared were the factors that triggered the terrible accident. Officers will continue to investigate the case.
