Mother and her two children die in a fatal pedestrian accident in Placentia

Orange, California. Family and friends mourn the death of a mother and her two young daughters who were fatally hit when a drunk driver injured them while crossing the street on Saturday. According to a report from the Orange County Fire Department.
Placentia police officers said they were near the area, one block from West La Jolla 800th Street, when they heard a crash around 22:23 p.m. on Saturday. Officers found three unconscious people lying in the street when they arrived.
Police officers called paramedics, but all three people were pronounced dead at the scene.
A family member identified them as Patricia Ledesma, and their two children, a three-year-old Dayana and Stephanie, who was seven. His family lived on the street where the accident occurred.
Officers said preliminary investigation revealed that one vehicle had crashed and the impact had hit a second vehicle.
A man named Nicolas Munoz, 27, of Placentia, was the one who unfortunately drove the vehicle that struck pedestrians, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and DUI
He was arrested in Orange County Monday in lieu of $1 million bail. He is scheduled for his first court appearance Tuesday in the Central Jail Court.
